Honeymoon IsleAbout the Exhibit

Mike has graciously agreed to present his works at the Rotary Centennial Nature Center at Honeymoon Island State Park through April 2012.

Apparel, totes, note cards, matted giclees, and various styles and sizes of ready to hang giclees on stretched canvas are available. All proceeds from sales directly benefit Caladesi and Honeymoon Island State Parks through the Citizens Support Organization Friends of the Island Parks.

These images celebrate old Florida and coastal living at its finest. Come celebrate island life with us and view the specially commissioned work "Honeymoon Isle" for a look back at yesteryear. Purchase "Honeymoon Isle" as a note card, tote, tee shirt, long sleeve shirt for those Florida Gulf Coast winter mornings, or as frame-able or ready to hang art for your home. Giclees are limited edition, hand embellished and signed.

About the Artist's Process

Even before I make the first line with the pen, I have already thought about what I am going to create months ahead of time.

Thinking about what I am going to create takes far longer than actually creating it. My work reflects a combination of where I have been and also where I would like to be.

Once I have an idea of what to create, I sketch it out in pencil.

As soon as the original is sketched out, the meticulous process of building up thousands of fine pen lines begins.

The pen and ink process is finished once I have gone in with pastels and add color.
